The "Axiom of Choice" was mentioned above in jest.

Just being mathematically nit-pickity.

Which potential would you like to achieve most?
1) To make as much money as you possibly can?
2) To attain the highest public office you can?
3) To become famous for the work you do?
4) To help as many people as you can?
...

Problem of an absence of accurately defined purpose will be solved by:
- Perfection of world of your material things (enrichment of life is called happiness),
- Spiritual development (better and better planning and management)
- And reproduction - many children and their education (instead of aspiration to destroy the enemy) -
Moreover, this process is the only purpose possible.
That is my opinion.
Not exactly those four.
Exact arrangements create good friends.
Achieving Your Potential

If a reader asked whether I think I've reached my potential,
Very surprising that nobody had ever asked that. There are so many people with a chip on their shoulder concerning intelligence, you, being famous for it, are probably the world's biggest lightning rod for them and that's one of the main things they will question.

And one doesn't need to be a foolishly competetive brainiac to wonder about this. I think every thoughtful person considers this question about themselves and those who have greater ability and more favorable circumstances.

Anyway, Great answer. Alot to think about.

The idea of achieving your potential is universal. Marilyn's take
that we have and should try to achieve multiple potentials is
an excellent and encouraging extension of simple self-realization.

Everyone should be told that they should never give up on their
abilities and positive goals. As long as one is alive, one should have
a purpose or purposes to drive one forward. This is the best and
only way any person should live and want to live their life.
